Giancarlo grew up in Jakarta, Brussels, Athens and Rome. He was an investment banker in London for 10 years, then a successful entrepreneur in financial risk management and European real estate for another 10 years, most notably as founder and CEO of Mangusta Risk.  Then, one day a friend ask to shoot some scenes of a film in his loft.  From that moment on Giancarlo was hooked on film.

Shortly after he founded of Mangusta Productions, launching with the critically-acclaimed feature films The Living Wake and Fix, followed by the documentaries Being in the World and Time for Change. These projects added another layer to the excitement of making films: the power of documentaries to improve lives and motivate people.

His next projects Starlet, Neurons to Nirvana, and The Lottery of Birth took the excitement and social action ideology to the next level and helped define mangu.tv's mission statement:

"We believe there is something broken with the way we have been approaching drugs, sex, death and politics. On the edges of mainstream culture people are proposing alternatives to the way they deal with drugs, practice intimacy, approach our last days and organize our society. Their ideas are gathering momentum, we believe in a few years they will be on everyone's minds. mangu.tv produces and distributes films and content that help bring these conversations to the wider world"

He now brings much needed business acumen to progressive radical activism.
